Rahmat Shah Shines as Afghanistan Ends Day Two with 211 Runs Against Bangladesh

Abu Dhabi, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : Afghanistan has made significant strides in their Test match against Bangladesh, taking place at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. By the end of Day Two, Afghanistan had scored 211 runs while losing four wickets in their first innings.

Earlier in the match, Afghanistan bowled out Bangladesh for 346 runs in their first innings. Mohammad Salim Safi was the standout bowler, claiming four wickets, while Yameen Ahmadzai contributed with three. Ismat Alam and Qais Ahmad also chipped in with two and one wicket, respectively.

Afghanistan’s batting began on a shaky note, losing two wickets for just 64 runs. Sedikulah Atal managed only 17 runs before being dismissed, and Shahidullah Kamal followed soon after, scoring 20 runs before falling to Ebadot Hossain.

However, the situation improved as captain Rahmat Shah and Abdul Malik steadied the innings. Together, they forged a crucial partnership, adding 70 runs for the third wicket. Abdul Malik scored 62 runs off 120 balls, featuring four boundaries and a six. Captain Shah, meanwhile, is not out on 84 runs from 186 balls, having hit eight fours and a six.

Hashmatullah Shahidi was dismissed without scoring, caught by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, while wicketkeeper Ikram Alikhil supported Shah with a solid 26 runs off 91 balls. Afghanistan still trails Bangladesh by 135 runs and looks to gain a significant lead on Day Three, with Ebadot Hossain taking two wickets for 50 runs in 11 overs.
