
Indore, October 11 (Daily Kiran) : The third match of the five-match T20 International series between India and West Indies is set to take place on Sunday at Indore’s Holkar Cricket Stadium. Following a disappointing loss in the second T20, where India scored 249 runs yet still fell short, the team is eager to make a strong comeback.
India has played a total of four T20 International matches at Holkar Stadium, winning three and losing just one. The sole defeat occurred in 2022 against South Africa, where the visitors set a formidable target of 227 runs. India, in response, was bowled out for 178 runs.
In their most recent match at this venue, India triumphed over Afghanistan in 2024. After restricting Afghanistan to 172 runs, India chased down the target in just 15.4 overs, losing four wickets. Yashasvi Jaiswal was a standout performer, scoring 68 runs off 34 balls, while Shivam Dube contributed an unbeaten 63 runs from 32 balls.
Currently, the T20 series stands at 1-1. India secured an 8-wicket victory in the first T20, but West Indies responded strongly in the second match, winning by 6 wickets. India had set a challenging target of 250 runs, but West Indies, led by captain Shai Hope’s impressive unbeaten century of 102 runs, successfully achieved the target in just 18.3 overs. Sherfane Rutherford also made a significant impact with a blistering 84 runs off 37 balls, marking West Indies’ highest chase in T20 International history.
