New Delhi, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : In an impressive display during the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, the Gujarat U-19 team triumphed over Jharkhand by 91 runs on October 10, 2026, at the Dr. PVG Raju ACA Sports Complex in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh.
After winning the toss, Jharkhand invited Gujarat to bat first. Gujarat started strong, with Shourya Pancholi and Nihal Patel forming a formidable partnership, amassing 128 runs for the first wicket. Shourya dazzled with a rapid 79 runs off just 61 balls, hitting six fours and six sixes. Nihal narrowly missed a century, scoring 83 runs from 95 balls, including six fours and two sixes.
Batting at number three, Ved Patel also contributed significantly with a well-composed 66 runs, striking three fours and four sixes. Kush Patel added 38 runs off 37 balls, while Sameer Bhandari chipped in with a quick 30 runs from 22 balls. Chasing a target of 342 runs, Jharkhand managed to score only 250 runs, losing nine wickets. Tanmay top-scored for his team with 85 runs, hitting nine fours and three sixes. Amartya Chaudhary also played well, scoring 53 runs off 48 balls, as the duo added 99 runs for the first wicket.
However, after their dismissals, Jharkhand’s batting line-up collapsed. Manmeet Singh contributed 43 runs, but the team struggled to maintain momentum. Keval Patel excelled with the ball, taking three wickets for 52 runs in ten overs. Nihal Patel, who shone with the bat, also took two crucial wickets for 33 runs.
