Jerusalem, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : The Israeli army marked the third anniversary of the Hamas attack by releasing data on its military operations. Since October 2023, the army has conducted strikes on approximately 100,000 targets across the Middle East. Additionally, the army has increased its reserve forces by 36 percent.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Israeli military noted that in 2026, reserve combat units are serving an average of 80 to 100 days, a significant rise from the previous average of about 55 days. This change is attributed to evolving operational needs.
According to a report by the Xinhua news agency, following an order issued in August 2024, around 22,000 reserve soldiers have been called back to duty after being previously released from service.
The army’s data indicates that of the nearly 100,000 targets struck since October 2023, approximately 65,000 were in Gaza, 28,000 in Lebanon and Syria, 4,500 in Iran, and 80 in Yemen. However, it remains unclear whether repeated strikes on the same locations were counted separately.
In the occupied West Bank, the Israeli army reported that around 45,000 individuals have been detained for questioning over the past three years. This group includes those accused of throwing stones, possessing weapons, and planning attacks.
Since the onset of the conflict, over 3,800 weapons have been seized, according to military reports. The army also noted that approximately 10,200 projectiles have been launched from Gaza towards Israel, along with 20,000 from Lebanon, 1,200 from Iran, 50 from Syria, and 90 from Yemen. These figures have not been independently verified.
Throughout these operations, 970 Israeli soldiers have lost their lives, while more than 70 percent of those injured have returned to duty. The attack led by Hamas on October 7, 2023, resulted in around 1,200 fatalities. In response, Israel initiated a large-scale military campaign in Gaza.
Health officials in Gaza report that the ongoing military operations have resulted in over 74,200 deaths, with the conflict subsequently spreading to other regions in the Middle East.
