Moradabad, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : A significant fire broke out late Wednesday night at a guest house located in front of the Moradabad railway station in Uttar Pradesh. The blaze also affected nearby shops, but fortunately, there were no casualties reported. Authorities suspect that a short circuit may have caused the fire.
Rajeev Pandey, the Chief Fire Officer, reported that the incident occurred near Gate Number 2 of the Moradabad railway station, where two guest houses are situated above some PCO shops. The fire department received the alert around midnight regarding the flames engulfing the guest house and the PCO below.
Upon arrival, two fire trucks were dispatched to the scene. The fire was intense, fueled by the wooden and plywood structures of the PCO shops, which allowed it to spread rapidly. To combat the blaze effectively, three additional fire trucks were called in, bringing the total to five.
CFO Pandey confirmed that there was no damage to the guest house itself, with only the two wooden shops suffering losses. After about an hour of rigorous efforts, the fire department managed to bring the situation under control. There were approximately 50 shops closely packed in the vicinity, all of which were successfully safeguarded.
According to Pandey, the fire only caused damage to two shops and, importantly, no injuries were reported. While the initial assessment points to a short circuit as the likely cause, a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact reasons behind the incident. SP City Kumar Ranveer Singh added that the fire originated from one guest house and spread to another, but complete control has been achieved with no loss of life or property.
