Chandigarh, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : The Punjab government has streamlined its flagship health initiative, making it easier for beneficiaries to access their health cards. Under the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme (MMSY), residents can now download their health cards digitally from the comfort of their homes. The State Health Agency (SHA) Punjab has activated this feature on its official portal.
Beneficiaries no longer need to visit service centers or offices to obtain a physical copy of their health cards. After completing the e-KYC and photo verification, users can view and download their cards online. The card can be saved on a mobile device or printed when necessary.
The process for downloading the health card has been simplified into three steps. First, beneficiaries must enter their details, such as family ID, health card number, mobile number, or Aadhaar number, to search their family record.
The second step involves OTP verification. Beneficiaries must verify their identity using the OTP sent to their registered mobile number or linked Aadhaar number.
Once verification is successful, the verified health card will appear on the screen, allowing users to download it in PDF format.
The department has emphasized that completing the e-KYC is mandatory before downloading the card as a security measure. Beneficiaries must update photos of their family members for verification. Downloading the card without proper verification will not be accepted.
Under the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme, eligible families receive cashless treatment coverage of up to ₹10 lakh annually. The introduction of the digital card marks a significant improvement, reducing paperwork and ensuring that documents are readily available during emergencies.
Beneficiaries can store the downloaded card securely on their mobile devices, keep a printed copy, share it with family members, and present it during hospital visits.
The State Health Agency has urged the public to use only the official website for this service and to avoid sharing their OTP with anyone. The government views this initiative as a crucial step toward enhancing healthcare accessibility and convenience for the people.
