Punjab High Courts Ruling on DA and Pension Payments: A Major Victory for Employees

New Delhi, August 3: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued directives to the Punjab government regarding the payment of Dearness Allowance (DA), pensions, and other pending dues. This decision has been welcomed by Tarun Chugh, the National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who described it as a significant victory for employees and pensioners.

Chugh praised the High Court’s ruling, stating that it has brought justice to nearly eight lakh employees and pensioners in the state. He emphasized that the court’s decision is a strong rebuke to the arbitrary and irresponsible governance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. This ruling serves as a stark reminder of the mismanagement under the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, as employees and pensioners were compelled to seek judicial intervention to receive their legal entitlements, including salaries, DA, and pensions.

The BJP leader accused the Punjab government of misusing public funds, spending thousands of crores on advertisements while neglecting the rights of employees and pensioners. He asserted that both the government’s intentions and economic priorities are misguided.

Chugh noted that the High Court has clearly instructed that the DA, pensions, and other pending amounts for employees and pensioners should be disbursed within 15 days. He criticized the AAP government’s procrastination, calling it a complete failure. He urged the government to release the overdue payments to employees and pensioners without further delay.

In addition, Chugh expressed his satisfaction with the passage of the MSME Development (Amendment) Bill in the Rajya Sabha. He called this legislation a historic achievement for millions of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the country.

He stated that this law will invigorate the MSME sector, provide better security for entrepreneurs, and open up new business opportunities. Chugh is confident that this bill will be a crucial milestone in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Developed India,’ thereby boosting the economy and creating new jobs.
