Uttar Pradesh Police Arrest Five Drug Traffickers with Smack Worth ₹1.5 Crore

Lucknow, August 3: The Rampur Police, in collaboration with the Special Operations Group (SOG), executed a significant operation leading to the arrest of five drug traffickers. They seized approximately 2.603 kilograms of smack, valued at ₹1.5 crore in the international market.

The confiscated drugs included 473 grams of regular smack and 2,130 grams of smack cut powder. In addition to the drugs, authorities recovered eight mobile phones, ₹71,000 in cash, two motorcycles, and a scooter from the suspects.

During initial interrogations, police uncovered several crucial leads related to the drug trade. Investigators are currently working to trace the origin of the smack and identify the districts involved in its distribution. They are also probing the involvement of other individuals in this illegal operation.

Authorities stated that a continuous campaign against illegal drug trafficking is underway in the district. They emphasized that strict actions will be taken against those involved in such activities. This operation is viewed as a significant success against drug traffickers.

Rampur Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar Sisodia confirmed that ongoing efforts are being made to combat crime in the district. Based on specific intelligence, police conducted a joint operation that led to the arrest of these five traffickers with drugs worth ₹1.5 crore.

He added that these criminals target vulnerable minors to sell their narcotics. Some of the arrested individuals have been involved in this crime for an extended period. Appropriate legal actions are being taken against all suspects, and investigations to uncover their entire network are ongoing.
