New Delhi, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : Navpreet Singh, a suspected leader of an international drug trafficking network, was recently deported from Turkey to India. Following his arrival, the Rouse Avenue Court in New Delhi ordered him to be held in police custody for ten days. The Delhi Police had requested this duration for further investigation.
The police informed the court that they need to take Singh to Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra for questioning. Singh is expected to be interrogated alongside previously arrested associates Ramandeep, Gurpreet, and Gurjot.
Investigative agencies have identified Singh as a key handler in a purported international drug network. Allegations suggest that he was residing abroad under a false identity. Reports indicate that he acquired Turkish citizenship using the alias “Nawab Virk.”
Singh is accused of operating a trafficking network that allegedly smuggled heroin and methamphetamine from Afghanistan to India. He is currently under investigation for drug trafficking and other criminal activities within India.
Court records from the Delhi High Court label Singh as the principal kingpin of this drug syndicate, confirming his presence in Turkey at the time. His name emerged in a significant drug syndicate case in Delhi in 2021, where approximately 355.5 kilograms of heroin were seized from the accused. Investigators have pointed to Singh as the main perpetrator and handler of the operation.
Further investigations by the Punjab Police have linked Singh to a drug network based in Turkey. With his deportation, the Delhi Police are now focused on uncovering additional details related to the network he allegedly managed.
