Varanasi, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : Varanasi, the sacred city of Kashi, is set to witness a grand air show celebrating the valor and capabilities of the Indian Air Force. Scheduled from October 24 to 26 at the Namoh Ghat, this event promises to blend the might of the air force with the rich cultural heritage of the region.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a high-level review of the preparations for the air show on Saturday. The main event on October 25 is expected to be graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
During the review meeting, senior officials from the Indian Air Force, Varanasi district administration, and police presented a detailed plan for the event. They discussed the arrangements for spectator galleries, grandstands, designated areas for distinguished guests, media zones, entry and exit routes, security checks, and other logistics.
In anticipation of large crowds at Namoh Ghat and nearby areas along the Ganges, the plan includes dividing the venue into zones and sectors for better crowd management.
Chief Minister Adityanath noted the excitement among the public and emphasized the need for effective crowd management, smooth traffic flow, parking, and clear signage for attendees. He instructed that adequate provisions for drinking water, first aid, sanitation, and security should be in place across all areas. Additionally, trained police personnel and magistrates should be deployed strategically in each sector.
He acknowledged the likelihood of significant foot traffic at Kashi’s major ghats and surrounding areas during the event, urging for an integrated plan to manage crowds, traffic, and transport via both land and water routes. He also stressed the importance of conducting safety drills to ensure coordinated action among all teams in case of emergencies.
The Chief Minister directed district officials from all districts in the Varanasi division to ensure effective coordination. He highlighted the need for proper resource management to accommodate visitors from nearby districts, urging the Indian Air Force, district administration, police, and all relevant departments to work together efficiently to create a safe and welcoming environment for pilgrims, tourists, and the general public.
