PSG, Arsenal Among Five Clubs Nominated for 2026 Mens Club of the Year at Ballon dOr

New Delhi, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : Five prominent football clubs have been nominated for the prestigious Men’s Club of the Year award at the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony. Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Norwegian club Bodo/Glimt, and Brazilian side Flamengo are in contention for the honor.

PSG enters the race as the current titleholder. They enjoyed a remarkable season, securing their second UEFA Champions League title. The club also excelled in domestic and international competitions, winning Ligue 1, the French Super Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, and the Intercontinental Cup. With their reputation as one of Europe’s elite clubs, PSG aims to retain their title.

Arsenal, having ended a 22-year wait for the Premier League title, is also among the nominees. The Gunners celebrated their return to the top of English football and made significant strides in European competitions.

Bayern Munich has been shortlisted following another successful season in Germany. The club captured the Bundesliga, the DFB-Pokal, and the German Super Cup, reinforcing their dominance in domestic football.

Bodo/Glimt’s nomination comes as a surprise. The Norwegian club has gained recognition for their impressive campaign, which included winning the Norwegian Cup. Their nomination highlights the increasing presence of non-traditional clubs in European football.

Flamengo rounds out the list after a stellar season in Brazil and South America. The Rio de Janeiro club triumphed in the Copa Libertadores, the Brazilian Championship, and the Rio de Janeiro State Championship.

These five clubs will now compete for the coveted Club of the Year award. The winner will be announced at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in London on October 26.

PSG boasts a multitude of international and domestic trophies, making them a strong contender. However, following their successful seasons, Arsenal and Bayern Munich also present formidable challenges in the race.
