Prime Minister Modi Inspects Wildlife Corridor in Saharanpur

New Delhi, April 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday. During his visit, he reviewed the wildlife corridor on the elevated section of the Delhi-Dehradun corridor before heading to Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

The wildlife corridor aims to open new avenues for development while ensuring the protection of wildlife and conservation of nature. Accompanying Prime Minister Modi during the inspection were Union Minister for Highways and Transport Nitin Gadkari, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak.

An exhibition showcasing the construction process of the wildlife corridor was set up, where officials provided the Prime Minister with detailed information about the project.

Earlier, PM Modi participated in a roadshow in Saharanpur, where a large crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of him. Attendees waved the national flag and chanted slogans like “Modi-Modi,” “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” and “Jai Shri Ram,” showering him with flowers. Many wore traditional attire and performed folk dances in his honor. PM Modi greeted everyone with a wave.

In Dehradun, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Delhi-Dehradun corridor at a public event and address the gathered crowd.

The 213-kilometer-long, six-lane, access-controlled Delhi-Dehradun corridor has been constructed at a cost exceeding ₹12,000 crores. This corridor will significantly reduce travel time between Delhi and Dehradun from over six hours to approximately two and a half hours.

The project includes ten interchanges, three railway overbridges, four major bridges, and twelve roadside facilities to ensure seamless high-speed connectivity. Equipped with an advanced traffic management system (ATMS), the corridor aims to provide a safer and more efficient travel experience for passengers.
