New Delhi, April 1: President Droupadi Murmu, along with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and other leaders, extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Odisha on the occasion of the state’s foundation day. The President emphasized that Odisha’s invaluable contributions to the freedom struggle and nation-building have always inspired us all.
In a message on the social media platform ‘X’, President Murmu stated, “On the occasion of Odisha Day, I extend my warm wishes to the brothers and sisters of Odisha. This day symbolizes Odisha’s rich cultural heritage, ancient traditions, and the patience and resilience of its people. The invaluable contributions of Odisha in the freedom struggle and nation-building have always motivated us.”
She further noted that the role of Odisha’s skilled and hardworking people is crucial in building a developed India. On this auspicious occasion, she prayed to Lord Jagannath for the prosperity and welfare of the people of Odisha.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also took to ‘X’, writing, “Jai Jagannath! Heartfelt wishes to all residents of Odisha on Utkal Day. This state, rich in cultural heritage, glorious history, and unique natural wealth, strengthens the identity of our nation. The traditions, art, literature, and folk life here beautifully exemplify the diversity and richness of Indian culture.”
He added that the diligent and determined people of Utkal are continuously establishing new dimensions of development. “I hope that Odisha becomes even more prosperous, empowered, and self-reliant in the future, reaching new heights of progress,” he remarked.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also shared his wishes on ‘X’, stating, “On Odisha Day, I extend heartfelt greetings to the brothers and sisters of Odisha residing in various parts of the world. On this day in 1936, our state Odisha gained the honor of being the first independent province based on language. On this sacred day, I pay my humble tribute to the great souls who sacrificed their lives to protect Odisha’s identity and pride. Let us, with the blessings of Lord Jagannath, resolve to further enrich our glorious art, culture, and heritage on the global stage. O Utkal Janani!”
Union Minister Giriraj Singh expressed his wishes as well, stating, “On the occasion of Utkal Day, I extend heartfelt greetings to all residents celebrating Odisha’s foundation day. The holy land of Mahaprabhu Jagannath is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, art, and natural beauty. May this state continue to establish new dimensions of progress and prosperity, contributing significantly to the nation’s development.”
