Patna, February 8: Prashant Kishor, the architect of the Jan Suraj Party, is embarking on a new journey in Bihar as the state gears up for the assembly elections. Previously, the ruling party, JD(U), has mocked Kishor, asserting that he can never match the stature of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
JD(U) national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan commented, “Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has set such a high standard in Bihar that becoming an alternative to him is beyond leaders like Prashant Kishor.”
In an interview with a news agency, Ranjan stated that while Kishor has ample time, he created a significant uproar during the last elections but ended up with zero seats. He is attempting to repeat that effort now.
Responding to Tejashwi Yadav’s remarks against Nitish Kumar, Ranjan said, “Lalu Yadav is implicated in numerous scandals. If being a scamster is a prerequisite for leadership, then undoubtedly, Lalu Prasad Yadav is a major leader. However, the person who understands the public’s pain and issues is Nitish Kumar. He has been steering the state towards becoming a ‘developed Bihar’.”
Ranjan further noted, “When the RJD emerged as the largest party last time, Tejashwi Yadav had the opportunity to be humble, shed arrogance, and build trust among party leaders and workers. However, he failed, and currently, his party holds only 25 seats. There is a deep sense of apathy within the RJD, and internal family disputes complicate matters. Therefore, Tejashwi Yadav’s path forward is not easy.”
Regarding Nitin Naveen’s visit to Patna, the JD(U) spokesperson remarked, “This is a significant opportunity for Bihar. The people of the state take pride that after 45 years of BJP’s establishment, for the first time, a leader from Bihar has become the president of this largest party in the world.” He also mentioned that both the BJP and NDA will benefit from Naveen’s presidency in Bihar.
Praising the India-U.S. trade agreement, Ranjan stated, “This trade deal has greatly benefited India and presents a significant opportunity to overcome uncertainties in the business world. Our trade partnership with the U.S. was approximately $86 billion in the last fiscal year.”
Ranjan explained that according to this agreement, materials worth $46 billion will have zero tariffs, while about $30 billion worth of materials will incur an 18% tariff, which is advantageous for India.
