Prakash Raj Takes a Jibe at South Actors Praising Ranveer Singhs Dhurandhar 2

Mumbai, March 21: Actor Prakash Raj has recently commented on the praises given to Ranveer Singh’s film Dhurandhar 2 by several South Indian actors. Notable figures like Allu Arjun, Junior NTR, Mahesh Babu, and Vijay Deverakonda had expressed their admiration for Singh’s performance. However, Raj has taken a dig at these endorsements, suggesting that such formalities are now spreading in the South as well.

After the release of Dhurandhar 2, the film received significant support from South Indian actors. Following its debut, actors including Vijay Deverakonda, Allu Arjun, Junior NTR, and Mahesh Babu praised the film. In response to a tweet from an X user highlighting the South actors’ compliments, Raj remarked that this trend of formalities is now evident in the South too.

Prakash Raj’s Tweet
An X user tweeted, “So far, Allu Arjun, Vijay Deverakonda, Junior NTR, and Mahesh Babu have praised Dhurandhar 2. Has any Bollywood star tweeted about it?” Raj’s reply implied a sarcastic take on the situation.

Earlier, Prakash Raj shared a video from his home featuring the song “Abhi Na Jao Chhodkar” from the 1961 film Hum Dono playing on the radio. He captioned it, “I am very far from Dhurandhar.” Many users reacted to Raj’s posts, with some accusing director Aditya Dhar of promoting the BJP through the film. Others labeled it as propaganda, while many praised the film’s storyline and performances.

South Actors Praise Ranveer
South actors have expressed pride in Ranveer Singh’s work, with Allu Arjun calling the film special. He noted that it showcases patriotism with flair. Vijay Deverakonda had shared a post before the release, chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” Junior NTR mentioned saluting the Dhurandhar 2 team after watching the film, while Mahesh Babu highlighted that this is Ranveer’s best performance yet.

Events Depicted in Dhurandhar
Dhurandhar, released on December 5, 2025, features significant events such as the Kandahar hijacking and the 26/11 attacks in its first part. The sequel addresses demonetization and the connections of former UP legislator Atiq Ahmed with Pakistan. Some critics have labeled both parts as propaganda films due to their content.
