Bengaluru, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : Central Heavy Industries and Steel Minister has pointed fingers at Karnataka’s Chief Minister following the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid at PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi’s residence. The minister suggested that internal factions within the Congress party may be behind the raid. In a swift rebuttal, D.K. Shivakumar challenged H.D. Kumaraswamy to release any documents he might have against Jarkiholi.
The verbal clash intensified as Kumaraswamy claimed there are efforts underway to politically eliminate Jarkiholi, whom he identified as a potential chief ministerial candidate. Speaking in Hassan, Kumaraswamy noted that Jarkiholi had not met with him but discussed internal party dynamics, revealing that someone had lodged a complaint against him.
Kumaraswamy raised questions about how the Chief Minister became aware of potential future raids, recalling Shivakumar’s statement about possible searches at three, four, or even five other residences. He demanded to know the source of this information, asking if it was provided by a Congress leader. If complaints were indeed filed by Congress members, he questioned why they weren’t made public by the party itself.
He further alleged that Congress leaders had previously targeted former minister K.N. Rajanna and BJP MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi, and now they were setting their sights on Satish Jarkiholi. Kumaraswamy stated that the plan to politically dismantle Jarkiholi is already in motion, emphasizing that he would reveal more about Shivakumar in due time and release relevant documents.
Kumaraswamy’s remarks highlight the ongoing strife within Karnataka’s political arena, as the ED’s actions spark a fierce battle of accusations and counter-accusations among the state’s leaders.
