Uttarakhand Chief Minister Discusses Road Proposals with Central Minister in New Delhi

New Delhi, October 12 (Daily Kiran) : Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met with Central Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in New Delhi to discuss the construction and approval of rural roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Uttarakhand.

During the meeting, Dhami informed Chouhan that the state has submitted proposals for 315 roads aimed at connecting rural areas to the road network. The construction of these roads is expected to link 610 habitations, improving access for residents in remote and rural regions. This initiative will facilitate better connectivity for education, healthcare, employment, and other essential services.

Dhami emphasized the urgent need for road connectivity in Uttarakhand, given its mountainous terrain. He requested prompt approval for the proposed projects, asserting that expanding road facilities is crucial for rural development. Enhanced infrastructure will not only accelerate growth in marginalized and remote areas but also strengthen the rural economy.

Chouhan reassured the Chief Minister that necessary actions would be taken to expedite the approval of the road proposals submitted by Uttarakhand. In response, Dhami expressed gratitude for the support from the central government, highlighting the state’s commitment to improving basic infrastructure in remote and rural areas. He noted that the construction of roads under the PMGSY would play a significant role in enhancing connectivity for the rural population and contributing to the overall development of the state.
