Anurag Thakur Criticizes Rahul Gandhis Opposition Tactics at Press Conference

New Delhi, October 12 (Daily Kiran) : Senior BJP leader Anurag Thakur addressed a press conference at the party headquarters in New Delhi, where he launched a strong critique of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Thakur asserted that while Gandhi serves as the Leader of the Opposition, he lacks a grasp of facts, logic, and rules. Instead, he suggested that Gandhi is adept only at sowing chaos and undermining the image of India’s constitutional institutions.

Thakur challenged Gandhi’s allegations of vote theft, accusing him of misusing the electoral mandate. He described Gandhi’s political approach as superficial, claiming that his entire narrative is based on unfounded assertions. According to Thakur, Gandhi often makes accusations only to retract them later in court. He noted that Gandhi, having lost 99 elections, frequently shifts blame for his failures, whether to electronic voting machines, the Election Commission, or the Chief Election Commissioner.

The BJP leader recounted Gandhi’s recent visits to President Droupadi Murmu and the Chief Justice, where he reportedly failed to provide evidence for his complaints. Thakur emphasized that while the public has the right to present their case in court, the Congress party tends to position itself above all constitutional institutions. He highlighted the party’s history of undermining the Constitution and imprisoning countless youth during the Emergency.

Thakur pointed out that the Congress party has a notorious history of ballot tampering and polling booth capture, which explains Gandhi’s call for paper ballots. He questioned whether Gandhi has ever provided evidence against the Election Commission. While acknowledging that dissent is a democratic right, Thakur insisted that accusations must be substantiated with proof.

He concluded by stating that if the opposition chooses to make claims, they must also bear the responsibility of providing evidence. In a democracy, accountability is required not only from the government but also from the Leader of the Opposition. Thakur remarked that while dissent is permissible, tarnishing the electoral mandate is unacceptable.
