Noida, June 15: The police in Greater Noida’s Kasna police station have successfully cracked a shocking murder case, arresting the accused. Authorities recovered a blood-stained stick, three yellow metal bangles, and the motorcycle used in the crime from the suspect’s possession.
According to police reports, the accused brutally murdered his friend out of greed for gold bangles. On June 12, an unidentified body was discovered near a canal in Gram Chirsi. During the investigation, the deceased was identified as 23-year-old Huzaifa, son of Mujammil, from the Daula Rajpur area. Given the seriousness of the case, police officials formed three special teams to expedite the investigation.
Through electronic evidence, CCTV footage, and other physical evidence, the police arrested the murder suspect, Shahzad, also known as Bittu, who is 19 years old and a resident of the same village as the victim. During police questioning, it was revealed that Huzaifa and Shahzad were good friends, both struggling with substance abuse.
Huzaifa had been asking his family for money to buy a new mobile phone and to start an AC repair business. However, due to his addiction, his family refused to give him any funds. In a desperate move, he stole four yellow metal bangles from his mother, planning to sell them. When Shahzad learned of this, he lured Huzaifa under the pretense of selling the bangles and took him on his motorcycle on June 12.
After consuming drugs together, Shahzad led Huzaifa to a secluded spot near the canal close to Gram Chandrawal. There, he seized the opportunity to strike Huzaifa on the head with a stick. Even after Huzaifa fell to the ground, Shahzad continued to attack him, resulting in Huzaifa’s immediate death.
After the murder, Shahzad fled the scene but soon returned, fearing Huzaifa might still be alive. To destroy evidence, he attempted to pour petrol from his motorcycle over the body and set it on fire. However, seeing the flames rise, he worried that nearby residents might arrive, prompting him to flee without disposing of the body in the canal.
