
Greater Noida, August 17: The police at Knowledge Park in Greater Noida have successfully apprehended two individuals involved in the illegal drug trade. Authorities seized a total of 23.6 kilograms of cannabis from the suspects. Additionally, a Splendor Plus motorcycle, allegedly used for trafficking, was also confiscated.
According to police reports, the arrests were made on August 17, 2026, near the Gurjarpur railway underpass, aided by local intelligence and beat policing. The suspects have been identified as Nitesh, son of Lakshman, and Rampal, son of Nathulal. Nitesh, 22 years old, is originally from Simrauthi in the Aligarh district but was residing in Surajpur.
Ramapal, 40, hails from Gadarapura in the Badaun district and was living in Salarpur, Sector 39, Gautam Buddh Nagar. Investigations revealed that Nitesh has a history of drug-related offenses, with several cases registered against him under the NDPS Act in 2023 and 2022. He also faces charges related to the Arms Act in 2026. Rampal has similarly been implicated in a case under the Arms Act in 2026.
Police are currently interrogating both suspects to uncover the source of the seized cannabis and identify potential distribution networks in Gautam Buddh Nagar and surrounding areas. The 23.6 kilograms of cannabis has been secured, and legal proceedings have commenced. The motorcycle used in the trafficking operation has also been recovered.
Authorities have pledged to continue their crackdown on drug trafficking syndicates, emphasizing the importance of local intelligence and community policing in these operations. Investigations are ongoing to gather more information about the suspects’ network and other individuals involved in the drug supply chain. Both suspects are expected to be presented before the court soon.
