New Delhi, August 12: A police encounter took place in Mathura involving a special staff team from the North-West district of Delhi and a notorious criminal. The police were transporting the suspect from Nandigram in West Bengal back to Delhi when he attempted to escape. Reports indicate that the accused snatched a police officer’s pistol and opened fire on the team.
During the incident, Sub-Inspector Ajay from the special staff team sustained injuries. In response, police fired back, hitting the suspect in the leg and apprehending him. Both the injured suspect and Sub-Inspector Ajay were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities revealed that the police team had gone to Nandigram to arrest the suspect in connection with a serious criminal case. After detaining him, they were en route to Delhi when the suspect requested to stop for a bathroom break. It was during this time that he seized the officers’ weapon and attempted to flee.
The police attempted to stop him, but he allegedly fired at them, resulting in Sub-Inspector Ajay being shot. The police pursued the suspect, and after continued gunfire, they managed to hit him in the leg, leading to his capture.
The suspect has been identified as Vain, also known as Lambu, who has multiple serious criminal cases against him. The police team had specifically traveled to Nandigram to apprehend him.
Currently, both the suspect and Sub-Inspector Ajay are receiving medical care at the hospital. Once their treatment is complete, the suspect is expected to be brought back to Delhi. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the entire incident and examining the facts surrounding the gunfire during the encounter.
