PM Modi Promises Liberation from TMCs Rule in West Bengal

Kolkata, April 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Dum Dum, North 24 Parganas, on Friday, ahead of the second phase of elections in West Bengal. During his speech, he countered the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the opposition, highlighting his government’s achievements and making several promises.

Modi told the audience that the wave of change in Bengal had been confirmed by the first phase of voting. The visible support for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sounded the conch of victory for the party. He stated that in a state where the TMC had crushed the temple of democracy with its authoritarianism, the people had begun to rebuild it during the first phase of voting. He urged voters to raise the flag of victory over this temple of democracy in the upcoming phase.

The Prime Minister remarked that the TMC is now in a state of panic. He noted that the TMC had been rallying its goons to intimidate voters. Modi called upon the people of Bengal and BJP workers to remember that this is the land of revolution and valor. He added that just as a flickering lamp struggles before it goes out, the TMC’s light is also flickering before its demise. He predicted that after the results on May 4, TMC goons would have no place to hide in Bengal.

Modi urged the public to vote for the BJP to free Bengal from years of suffering and the fear and corruption associated with the TMC. He emphasized the need for liberation to restore Bengal’s pride and transform it into a land of opportunities. He invoked the spirit of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, urging the people to break the chains of slavery that the TMC has imposed.

The Prime Minister criticized the TMC as being anti-women, contrasting it with the BJP’s development model led by women. He shared stories of mothers who have helped their daughters become doctors, only to see the TMC take away those dreams. Modi assured the women of Bengal that the BJP would not let their aspirations be crushed. He promised that after the BJP forms the government, every injustice would be addressed.

He highlighted that the Ayushman scheme is not implemented in Bengal, but under a BJP government, people would receive free treatment up to ₹5 lakh. This decision would be made in the first cabinet meeting. Modi reiterated that the BJP focuses on direct benefit transfers to ensure that no middlemen take away people’s money. He promised assistance under the PM Awas Yojana for housing, specifically for women.

Modi also emphasized the importance of the middle class, stating that their interests would be prioritized under a BJP government. He noted the significant tax relief provided to the middle class over the past 11 years, contrasting it with the previous TMC government’s heavy taxation.

He praised Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee, the first industry minister of India, stating that his vision could have propelled the country to greater heights. Modi expressed pride in the BJP’s foundation being rooted in Bengal’s ideals and aspirations. He recalled Mukherjee’s commitment to ensuring that the Constitution applies uniformly across the nation.

Modi concluded by addressing the issue of youth migration from Bengal, lamenting that while Kolkata was once a sports hub, young athletes are now leaving for better opportunities. He urged the audience to reflect on the reasons behind this trend.
