New Delhi, August 2 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme from Varanasi. A total of ₹20,500 crore has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of over 9.7 crore eligible farmers across the country, with each receiving ₹2,000.

The PM-Kisan scheme is a flagship initiative of the Central Government under which eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each. The first installment was released in 2019, and the scheme has since benefited millions of farmers.
