Vaibhav Suryavanshi Shines with Quick Fifty as Rajasthan Royals Defeat CSK by 8 Wickets

Guwahati, March 30: In a thrilling encounter of the Indian Premier League 2026, Rajasthan Royals (RR) triumphed over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 8 wickets, thanks to an explosive half-century from Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He scored a remarkable fifty in just 15 balls.

The match took place at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, where RR chased down a target of 128 runs. The opening partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi laid a solid foundation, adding 75 runs in just 6.2 overs. Vaibhav was particularly aggressive, hitting 4 fours and 5 sixes to finish with 52 runs off 17 balls before being caught by Sarfaraz Khan off Anshul Kamboj’s bowling.

Yashasvi Jaiswal contributed to the innings with a partnership of 24 runs with Dhruv Jurel for the second wicket. Jurel scored 18 runs off 9 balls before being dismissed. Jaiswal and captain Riyan Parag then sealed the victory with an unbeaten partnership of 29 runs. RR reached 128 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in just 12.1 overs.

Jaiswal played a crucial role as the anchor, remaining not out at 38 runs off 36 balls, including 1 six and 3 fours. Parag also contributed with 14 runs off 11 balls, hitting 1 six and 1 four.

For CSK, both wickets fell to Anshul Kamboj.

Batting first after losing the toss, CSK had a lackluster performance, collapsing for 127 runs in 19.4 overs. The team struggled to reach 100 runs, with Jamie Overton’s late innings of 43 runs off 36 balls, including 2 fours and 2 sixes, being the highlight. Overton formed a 33-run partnership for the last wicket with Kamboj. Sarfaraz Khan and Karthik Sharma chipped in with 17 and 18 runs, respectively.

For Rajasthan Royals, Jofra Archer was the standout bowler, taking 2 wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs. Nandre Burger also claimed 2 wickets for 26 runs, while Ravindra Jadeja took 2 wickets for 18 runs in 3 overs. Brijesh Sharma, Sandeep Sharma, and Ravi Bishnoi each took 1 wicket.
