Visakhapatnam, September 4 (Kiran News) — Telugu Titans finally tasted victory on home turf after back-to-back losses, defeating two-time champions Jaipur Pink Panthers 37–32 in their third match of Season 12 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) at the Viswanadh Sports Club Stadium on Thursday.
Captain Vijay Malik (8 points) and Bharat (8 points) led the charge for the Titans, while Chetan Sahu (5) and defender Ajit Pawar (5) made key contributions. The Titans’ defense played a crucial role, containing the brilliant effort of Jaipur’s Nitin Dhankhar, who managed a game-high 13 points. The loss marked Jaipur’s first defeat of the season after two matches.
The contest began evenly, with Titans holding a slender 3–2 lead in the opening five minutes. Bharat’s successful raids widened the gap to 6–3, but Jaipur responded with super tackles from Ankit and Nitin to keep the game alive. By the 10-minute mark, the Titans led 7–5.
Ajit’s strong dash on Samadhi set up an early all-out, giving Titans a 12–5 advantage. Jaipur clawed back with defensive brilliance, but by halftime the hosts maintained control at 16–9.
In the second half, Nitin’s super raids narrowed the deficit, but Bharat countered with his own multi-point raids to restore Titans’ cushion. A late rally saw Jaipur push the Titans to the brink of an all-out, but Vijay’s two-point raid not only saved the team but also extended their lead. Jaipur eventually managed an all-out to reduce the margin to 25–31, keeping the contest alive.
In the dying minutes, Nitin’s multi-pointer and Jaipur’s defensive effort cut the gap to just three points. However, a crucial super tackle by Titans on Nitin, followed by a decisive super raid from Vijay Malik, sealed the 37–32 win for the home side.
With this result, Telugu Titans registered their first win of PKL Season 12, while Jaipur Pink Panthers were handed their first loss of the campaign.
