Atlanta, May 1: The Falcons have streamlined their roster, leaving only one punter on their 90-man squad. The team announced the release of Trenton Gill on Monday. In a strategic move, they signed Jake Bailey to a three-year contract as a free agent, making him the sole punting option in Atlanta.
Gill joined the Falcons’ practice squad late last season but did not see any game action. His last regular-season performance was with the Buccaneers in 2024, where he played in eight games. During that time, he recorded a net average of 38.7 yards per kick. In total, Gill averaged 38.8 net yards over 34 games with the Bears.
