New Delhi, September 2: Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will travel to the United States later this month. He will participate in the G20 Trade Ministers meeting and discuss ongoing bilateral trade negotiations between the two countries. This announcement was made by Sergio Gore, the U.S. Ambassador to India, on Wednesday.
While addressing the 66th annual session of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), Gore stated that India and the U.S. are working together to strengthen their trade relations, and significant progress has been made in the negotiations.
The U.S. Ambassador mentioned that Goyal’s visit coincides with the G20 discussions hosted in Washington in the coming weeks. He emphasized that both governments are committed to establishing trade relations that are fair, reciprocal, and beneficial for both nations.
This visit comes at a time when India and the U.S. are making efforts to advance discussions on a bilateral trade agreement.
Gore expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “It’s great to be with my good friend and Commerce Minister. The U.S. and India are working closely together, and a lot is happening.”
He also highlighted the progress made between the two countries, which includes trade-related agreements between their governments. Gore noted that cooperation between India and the U.S. extends beyond just goods trade, encompassing various other sectors.
Emphasizing comprehensive cooperation, the U.S. Ambassador remarked that both countries are partnering in multiple areas. He referenced the Pact Silica Declaration signed earlier this year, aimed at creating a regulatory framework that promotes innovation and encourages cross-border investments by American and Indian companies.
He added that this initiative will also empower entrepreneurs and the next generation of businesses in both countries.
