Gujarat Emerges as a Dynamic State Ahead of VGGSS 2027 Roadshow

Mumbai, September 3: During a roadshow held in Mumbai ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGSS) 2027, top corporate leaders praised Gujarat as one of the most dynamic states in India. They expressed keen interest in expanding their presence in the state.

In a conversation with reporters, Anish Shah, CEO and Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra, highlighted Gujarat’s status as a leading state for business. He noted the group’s significant presence across various industries in the region.

After meeting with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Shah stated, “Our tractor manufacturing unit is in partnership with the Gujarat government. We have five Club Mahindra resorts in Gujarat, a substantial renewable business, and an industrial park for our LifeSpaces business.”

He mentioned that the roadshow focused on opportunities related to large industrial parks, GIFT City, manufacturing, resorts, and promoting Gujarat’s culture.

Meanwhile, Nikhil V. Merchant, Managing Director of Swan Energy, expressed satisfaction with the company’s operations in Gujarat and praised the state government’s proactive policies.

Swan Energy operates three businesses in Gujarat, including an LNG terminal, Pipavav Shipyard—now known as Swan Defense and Heavy Industries—and a textile mill in Narol.

Merchant told reporters, “All three businesses are performing well, and with government support and active policies, I believe we are well-positioned for the future.”

Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, recalled that the first Vibrant Gujarat roadshow took place in the same location during the tenure of then Chief Minister Narendra Modi. He expressed joy at returning to meet the current Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and reflected on the development journey Gujarat has undertaken since that first roadshow.

Today’s event follows the curtain-raiser held in New Delhi for VGGSS 2027, as Gujarat accelerates preparations for its upcoming major investment summit.
