
New Delhi, May 28: Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid) was celebrated peacefully in the mosques of Sambhal, Hardoi, and Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. In Sambhal, prayers were conducted in two shifts. Advocate Zafar Ali, the president of the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal, stated that the police and administration were fully alert. He emphasized that the atmosphere was calm and there were no issues reported.
Zafar Ali prayed to Allah for peace and tranquility throughout the country and in Sambhal. He noted that no prayers were held on the streets, as they were conducted within the mosque premises.
In Moradabad, Samajwadi Party leader S.T. Hasan remarked that during Eid-ul-Azha, believers sacrifice their most cherished possessions in the presence of Allah. He conveyed a message that the spirit of sacrifice should be upheld for the Almighty. This message should resonate with the public, encouraging them not to turn against each other over trivial matters or differences. He urged everyone to celebrate the festival with love, unity, and mutual respect, adding that the sacrifice of prohibited animals should not take place.
In Lucknow, Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahli noted that the festival was being celebrated in a positive atmosphere across the country. He called for prayers for the nation’s prosperity and urged adherence to the advisory issued, recommending that prayers be held inside the Eidgah and that sacrifices should only occur at designated locations, avoiding public spaces.
A local resident in Hardoi shared that Muslims performed the Eid prayers peacefully and respectfully at the Eidgah, while many others prayed in different mosques. Another worshipper expressed congratulations to the nation on Eid-ul-Azha and emphasized the importance of cleanliness regarding sacrifices.
Hardoi’s City Magistrate Sanjay Kumar confirmed that prayers were successfully conducted at the Eidgah in Kotwali city. He extended Eid greetings to everyone and assured that full vigilance was being maintained.
