Patna, April 3: Independent MP Pappu Yadav has hit back at Tejashwi Yadav’s statement claiming that Bihar is the poorest state in India. Yadav stated that everyone has played a role in Bihar’s current plight, asserting that the state has been exploited.
Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly and a prominent figure in the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), made his remarks during an election rally in Kerala, labeling Bihar as the poorest state in the country.
In response to journalists’ queries, Pappu Yadav remarked, “Bihar remains one of the poorest regions globally. The state ranks high in migration, unemployment, illiteracy, and diseases. Most factories are shut down. Everyone has a role in this degradation; all have exploited Bihar.”
He added, “The NDA government has been in power for 20-25 years, and the RJD has also held power for a similar duration. Now, when the sieve speaks, everyone listens. We are all exposed in this situation.”
Meanwhile, Pappu Yadav commented on the recent stampede incident in Nalanda, stating, “I am heading to Nalanda. Poor management and social disorder are responsible for the deaths. This is not an isolated incident; similar occurrences have happened in Jehanabad and across the country. The government seems indifferent to what is happening.”
He emphasized that the poor management by organizers and temple authorities, along with their treatment of devotees, is evident. “The tendency to exploit is rampant. Consequently, there is widespread dissatisfaction among people. The rush for quick darshan of God often leads to such incidents. The Nalanda stampede is not a trivial issue; I have raised this matter in the Lok Sabha.”
Pappu Yadav further expressed concern over the deteriorating state of society, stating, “Today, our society is plagued by a toxic mindset. About 80-85% of people are indulging in substance abuse. There is a disturbing trend of viewing obscene videos, and daughters are not regarded with respect. I feel pity for a society where crime, oppression, and exploitation occur openly, often recorded by onlookers.”
