Purnia, August 9: Purnia MP Rajesh Ranjan, popularly known as Pappu Yadav, has voiced his concerns regarding the treatment of women in recent protests and incidents, including the E20 issue and the Bharat Tiwari case.
During a press conference on Saturday, Yadav condemned the mistreatment of women, asserting that cases of atrocities against them have surged under the current government. He emphasized that the situation has deteriorated to the point where the value of daughters is disregarded. Despite the government’s slogans like “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao,” the reality is that violence against women is escalating rapidly. He warned that girls participating in the Jharkhand protests would be identified and subjected to mental harassment.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi raised questions about the E20 initiative, to which Pappu Yadav responded. He stated that the central cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Modi, made decisions regarding ethanol that could potentially harm vehicles across the nation. Yadav questioned the motives behind the push for ethanol, suggesting it could disrupt the lives of citizens.
Additionally, he addressed the Bharat Tiwari case, highlighting the lack of support for Tiwari’s family. His wife has publicly stated that they have received no assistance, and Tiwari’s mother confirmed that not even a single rupee has been provided. Yadav criticized the government for misleading the family and attempting to mock them, even going so far as to insult the family of the martyr.
He lamented the unfortunate reality that the family has received no help from the government, and instead, they have faced ridicule.
