Outrage in Ghaziabad After Murder of Youth on Bakrid

Ghaziabad, May 30: Residents of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, are expressing outrage following the murder of a young man named Surya during Bakrid celebrations. The victim’s family and local community are demanding justice from the government.

Seventeen-year-old Surya’s mother, Saroj, spoke out, saying, “My child was killed in a brutal manner. The accused should face the same fate. I have not even seen my child’s face yet.”

A local resident reported, “Videos have surfaced, including CCTV footage from the streets, but they have either been deleted or removed. This area is predominantly Muslim, and people are refusing to share the CCTV recordings. We have found a three-second clip showing four young men. Two others were also seen in the video trying to save him.”

He noted that two of the young men clearly had knives, with one attempting to pull out a weapon. They dragged Surya into an alley where he was stabbed. The local resident stated, “We demand blood for blood. We want the culprits to be encountered, and their homes should be demolished.”

He also mentioned that Surya had just completed his 10th-grade exams. He had two brothers and one sister, and their father had passed away two years ago.

A local woman added, “We demand justice for the victim’s family. The murderers should be encountered, and their homes should be demolished.”

Meanwhile, local BJP leader Reena Bhati remarked, “We have never faced such behavior in the Khoda Municipal Council. If a single Muslim individual has targeted the entire Muslim community, then the Muslim society should support us if we are right.”

She indicated that the mindset of the other community has changed significantly. They form friendships and then betray them. The accused had a dispute with Surya about 8-9 months ago and used Bakrid as an excuse to lure him.

Rohit Singh, the national president of the National Hanuman Dal, also met with the victim’s family. He stated, “I was away for the past 24 hours. I received calls from our organization and members of the Hindu community. I could not come earlier due to a tragic incident. However, our activists informed me that the administration is taking its time. Our demand is not a personal one; the victim’s family’s demand is our top priority. They seek justice in the form of ‘blood for blood.'”
