Opposition Questions Government on Inflation, Middle East Crisis, and Womens Reservation

New Delhi, March 25: The central government has called for an all-party meeting regarding the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Opposition MPs have labeled this meeting as misleading. They argue that the public is suffering while the government remains indifferent.

Congress MP Ujjwal Raman Singh stated in an interview that the situation in the country is deteriorating, with the burden of inflation increasingly affecting the common people.

He accused the government of making decisions without consulting the public, leaving the citizens to bear the consequences. The opposition is primarily interested in conveying the outcomes of these decisions to the public.

In reference to the all-party meeting on the Middle East conflict, Punjab Congress President and MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring asserted that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi is serious, he should attend the meeting.

He emphasized that if the PM does not participate, the meeting will lack real significance. The government must clearly present its foreign policy and action plan.

Congress leader Amin Patel expressed concern over the escalating conflicts and attacks in the Gulf region. He noted that India’s foreign policy has always been clear, with peace initiatives often originating from India. He also questioned Pakistan’s mediating role, calling it unfortunate.

Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav raised concerns about the government’s approach to the Iran issue and the related LPG crisis. She stated that the government’s stance has contributed to this crisis, especially considering India’s long-standing relations with Iran.

Dimple Yadav mentioned that she would attend the all-party meeting to understand the government’s position. Additionally, she emphasized the need for clarity on the implementation of the Women’s Reservation Bill, urging the government to specify its plans.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MP Mahua Maji commented on the Women’s Reservation Bill, suggesting that it should be discussed in the all-party meeting later due to upcoming elections in several states. She clarified that provisions should be established with the consensus of all parties to ensure maximum benefit for women.
