Ranchi, April 19: The political atmosphere in India is heating up as opposition parties, including Congress and the Indian Alliance, voice their dissent against the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha. In response, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a significant protest march in Ranchi on April 25. This march will commence from Morhabadi Maidan and proceed to Main Road, with thousands of women expected to participate.
A crucial meeting was held at the BJP state office on Sunday, chaired by state president Aditya Sahu, to strategize for the upcoming protest. It was decided that a large number of mothers and sisters from Ranchi Metropolitan, Ranchi East, Ranchi West, Ramgarh, Khunti, and Lohardaga districts will join the march.
During the meeting, Aditya Sahu, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP, launched a sharp attack on Congress and the Indian Alliance. He stated that by opposing the Women’s Reservation in Parliament, these parties have committed a grave injustice against the nation’s women. According to him, Congress has a negative history regarding women’s issues, and whenever given the chance, the party has undermined women’s empowerment.
Referencing the Shah Bano case, he accused Congress of reversing a Supreme Court decision to create laws for vote bank politics. He also highlighted their opposition to the Triple Talaq law and their resistance to the President as examples of Congress’s anti-women stance.
Sahu further alleged that Congress only wishes to see women from the Gandhi family advance in politics, hindering the empowerment of other women. He emphasized that this mindset led to the opposition against the Women’s Reservation Bill, which has sparked outrage among women across the country.
He urged the public, especially women, to participate in large numbers in the protest march on April 25.
The meeting was attended by several key figures, including Organization General Secretary Karmveer Singh, State Vice President Neelkanth Singh Munda, Geeta Koda, Bhanu Pratap Shahi, Muneeshwar Sahu, Chief Whip Naveen Jaiswal, Ranchi MLA CP Singh, State Minister Sunita Singh, Amar Deep Yadav, Ranchi Metropolitan President Varun Sahu, Satyanarayan Singh, Ramesh Singh, and district presidents from six districts.
