Ravi Kishan Criticizes Opposition Over Womens Reservation Bill Failure

Ballia, April 20: Bhojpuri actor and BJP MP Ravi Kishan has directed criticism at the opposition following the failure of the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament. He stated that those supporting dynastic politics opposed the bill, fearing increased participation of women in politics.

In a media interaction in Ballia, Kishan emphasized that the opposition’s anti-women mindset is the reason behind the resistance to this legislation. He pointed out that the opposition comprises individuals who thrive on family-based politics. They fear losing their dominance if women step forward, reflecting a so-called male-dominated mentality. The Prime Minister has been striving to break this mindset.

Kishan, who represents Gorakhpur, acknowledged that even if he were to be elected five times, he could not address every issue faced by the people. With a population exceeding 5 million in Gorakhpur, it is impossible for a single MP to hear every problem from every village and household. Hence, he stressed the necessity of redistricting.

He highlighted that the country has 700 million men and 700 million women. The Women’s Reservation Bill aims to elevate women’s status, but the opposition does not want to see them advance. This opposition stems from those entrenched in dynastic politics. Kishan asserted that it is time to stop confining women to domestic roles.

Additionally, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari referenced Prime Minister Modi’s address to the nation, expressing deep concern over the opposition’s stance on the Nari Shakti Vandan Act. He stated that the power to pass this bill, which is crucial for the respect, rights, and empowerment of half the country’s population, will soon be granted to the NDA by the nation and its women. Failing to pass this bill not only disregards women’s rights but also unjustly affects their dreams and aspirations.

Tiwari also mentioned the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections, claiming that he can see a wave of support for the BJP, predicting that the public will replace the TMC with the BJP in power.
