Odishas Naveen Patnaik Participates in 2027 Census Self-Enumeration

Bhubaneswar, April 5: Opposition leader Naveen Patnaik took part in the self-enumeration process of the digital census that began on April 1 in Odisha. He urged citizens to contribute to the 2027 census campaign to ensure a bright future for the state.

In a post on the social media platform X, Patnaik stated, “I participated in the ‘Digital Census’ program launched today and registered myself. Accurate data will aid in formulating welfare schemes in the coming days. Let’s collaborate in this campaign and be partners in building a bright future for the state.”

Prior to this, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Chandra Majhi, and several other dignitaries shared their details on the self-enumeration portal ahead of the door-to-door survey for the 2027 census.

The census program in the state is being coordinated by the ‘Census Operations Directorate, Odisha’ under the Ministry of Home Affairs and the ‘Revenue and Disaster Management Department’ of the Odisha government. The first phase of the census will commence on April 16.

Under this program, trained enumerators and supervisors will visit households from April 16 to May 15 to collect data. The self-enumeration program is running from April 1 until midnight on April 15.

Citizens are providing their information through the ‘Self-Enumeration Portal.’ Chief Minister Mohan Chandra Majhi has also appealed to citizens to share their details on the self-enumeration portal before the door-to-door survey begins, ensuring the successful completion of the 2027 census.

Majhi remarked, “I request everyone who has not yet submitted their information to do so through this portal and support the census. I have completed my self-enumeration, and you should too.”

He added, “From April 16, trained enumerators will visit homes to collect information. This data is crucial for planning and implementing development programs for our state and the country. Therefore, I urge you all to cooperate and make this program a success.”
