Mumbai, April 15: A crucial meeting was held under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate to maintain industrial peace and ensure 100% compliance with government guidelines in Gautam Buddh Nagar. The meeting took place at the Collectorate office and included representatives from various outsourcing agencies and contractors linked to industrial units.
During the meeting, the District Magistrate emphasized that all outsourcing agencies must take responsibility for maintaining discipline among their employees and workers. He stated that the role of agencies and contractors is vital for the smooth operation of industrial activities, as they not only assist in running industries but also provide employment to a large number of people.
The District Magistrate issued a stern warning that if any agency or its employees engage in disruptive behavior, the entire responsibility will fall on the respective agency. Such cases could lead to the agency being blacklisted and its license revoked. The administration made it clear that there would be no compromise on law and order.
The meeting also focused on minimum wage compliance. The District Magistrate informed that the government has set monthly wages at ₹13,690 for unskilled workers, ₹15,059 for semi-skilled workers, and ₹16,868 for skilled workers. All contractors were instructed to fully adhere to these standards and ensure timely transfer of full wages to workers’ bank accounts.
He noted that industries, workers, and employers are interdependent. Any impact on one party directly affects the others and overall economic activities. Disruptions in industrial activities can negatively affect employment, thereby hindering regional development.
The District Magistrate urged all agencies and workers to ignore any rumors or misleading information and to work in coordination and trust. He assured that the state government is fully committed to protecting the interests of both workers and employers, and the administration will be ready to resolve any issues. The meeting was attended by the Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Atul Kumar, DD Factory Brijesh, and officials from relevant departments, along with representatives from various industrial units.
