Chirag Paswan Visits Hospitalized Uncle Pashupati Paras, Calls Him Like a Father

Patna, April 15: Union Minister Chirag Paswan visited his uncle, Pashupati Kumar Paras, who has been admitted to a private hospital in Kankarbagh, Patna, due to sudden health complications and breathing difficulties. Doctors are closely monitoring his condition.

Upon learning about his uncle’s deteriorating health, Chirag Paswan rushed to Sai Hospital. He paid his respects by touching Paras’s feet and embraced him warmly. During his visit, he sought detailed updates from the doctors regarding Paras’s health and wished for his swift recovery.

A crowd of supporters gathered at the hospital, eager for news about Paras’s condition. Speaking to the media, Chirag Paswan expressed that his uncle is like a father to him. He emphasized, “Politics aside, I am here as a son to check on his health.”

The relationship between Chirag Paswan and Pashupati Paras had soured following the death of Ram Vilas Paswan. In 2021, the Lok Jan Shakti Party split into two factions, with Paras leading one group while Chirag formed his own faction, Lok Jan Shakti Party (Ram Vilas).

Recent developments, however, indicate a softening of their relationship, raising speculation about potential reconciliation in the future.

In terms of electoral performance, the Lok Jan Shakti Party won six seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Bihar. In the 2024 elections, Chirag Paswan’s party secured five seats under the NDA, leading to his appointment as a Union Minister. In the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, his party contested 29 seats and achieved victory in 19.

Currently, doctors have not provided detailed information about Paras’s health, but sources indicate that his condition is stable.
