Odisha Chief Minister Launches Samarpan Digital Donation Platform for Jagannath Temple

Bhubaneswar, July 15: The Odisha government has taken a significant step to enhance digital services for devotees of Lord Jagannath worldwide. Chief Minister Mohan Chandra Manjhi inaugurated a secure digital donation platform named ‘Samarpan’ on Wednesday. This platform enables devotees to make online donations to the Jagannath Temple from anywhere in the world.

The launch of this platform coincides with the annual Rath Yatra, which begins on Thursday, and took place at the office of the Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) in Puri.

This historic initiative has been jointly developed by the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) under the state’s Electronics and Information Technology Department and the SJTA. According to an official statement, this secure digital platform, developed by OCAC, is integrated with the SJTA’s official portal, allowing devotees to donate with complete security and transparency.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Manjhi emphasized that the digital donation platform ‘Samarpan’ is not merely a technology-based improvement. It serves as a sacred and transparent bridge connecting millions of Jagannath devotees worldwide to the Jagannath Temple.

He expressed confidence that this initiative would prove to be a milestone in preserving the rich traditions of Lord Jagannath and promoting the overall development of the Jagannath Temple.

The Chief Minister stated that the aim of this initiative is to connect devotees globally with the Jagannath Temple. He mentioned that the donations received through this platform would be utilized for the temple’s development and maintenance.

He added that the system is extremely simple, transparent, and user-friendly, allowing millions of Jagannath devotees residing in India and abroad to comfortably donate to Lord Jagannath from their homes. Under the direct guidance of the state government, a dedicated web portal and a mobile application have been developed as part of this technology-based initiative.
