Jammu, July 29: Former Director General of Police (DGP) SP Vaid has strongly opposed the warning issued by Abhijit Dipke, founder of the Cockroach People’s Party (CJP), regarding renewed protests. Vaid emphasized that the nation operates under the rule of law, not chaos.
Abhijit Dipke posted on the social media platform X, stating, “If the police continue to harass students, the Cockroach People’s Party will soon respond with a large and peaceful protest.” He further urged the government to cease targeting and harassing students.
In a conversation in Jammu, SP Vaid commented on Dipke’s statement, saying, “I can only say that this country will run on law, not chaos. We do not need chaos in this country. What more can I say? As a citizen and former police officer, my stance is that the country operates under the law. The Supreme Court, which is the highest court in the land, must be respected by all, and there should be no doubt about it.”
He referenced the Supreme Court’s orders related to protesters, stating, “I believe the Supreme Court’s order is excellent. All parties should respect it and hold it in high regard. This is our law. Whether it’s the government or any party, everyone must adhere to it. Children under 16 with no prior criminal record should be released. We have done this in our service as well. Children face similar issues in passport verification. The court’s order is correct. However, action should be taken against those with a criminal record.”
Regarding a statement made by Pakistan’s Defense Minister, SP Vaid remarked that it is a reprehensible statement. “No sensible leader should claim that the entire population of POK is our enemy. There cannot be a more degrading statement. It shows that Pakistan only loves its land and resources, not its people.”
