Noida, March 28: Noida International Airport is set to become one of the most modern airports in the country, thanks to its cutting-edge and environmentally friendly infrastructure. The newly constructed Terminal-1 is not only expansive in size and capacity but will also establish a new benchmark in technological innovation and passenger amenities.
The airport is being constructed using large-scale LC3 (Lime-Cement-Clay) technology for the first time in India. This low-carbon building material has a lesser environmental impact compared to traditional cement, making this project an excellent example of eco-friendly infrastructure.
Spanning approximately 137,000 square meters, Terminal-1 is designed with passenger convenience in mind. It will feature 48 check-in counters, 20 self-baggage drop stations, and 9 security check lanes, ensuring a swift and seamless experience for travelers. For international passengers, there will be 9 fast-track immigration counters, allowing for time-efficient and smooth transit.
For domestic flights, the airport will have 10 aerobridges and 2 bus boarding gates, while international flights will be served by 2 aerobridges and 1 bus boarding gate. This division will streamline operations and facilitate smooth passenger movement without any disruptions.
Noida International Airport is designed to handle approximately 30 aircraft takeoffs and landings per hour. Additionally, its annual cargo handling capacity is set at 250,000 metric tons, establishing it as a robust logistics hub.
The airport is directly connected to the Yamuna Expressway, featuring a dedicated interchange. Furthermore, the connection to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway (Ballabgarh link) ensures direct and quick access from South Haryana and Western India. In the future, regional connectivity will be enhanced through the Ganga Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
An interchange for the Eastern Peripheral Expressway is under construction, which will provide direct routes from Ghaziabad, Meerut, Palwal, and Sonipat upon completion. Meanwhile, the north and east access roads being developed for industrial and air cargo traffic are nearly finished. A 60-meter-wide service road in Sector-28 is being linked to the Yamuna Expressway to alleviate local traffic pressure.
