Greater Noida, March 6: The Noida International Airport, currently under construction in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, has received a significant administrative approval. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of the Indian government has issued an Aerodrome License (Public Use) for the airport. This development clears the way for flight operations to commence soon.
According to the license issued by the DGCA, the permission has been granted to Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, which is responsible for the construction and operation of the Noida International Airport. The license was issued under Rule 78 of the Aircraft Rules, 1937.
The license, released from New Delhi, indicates that the airport is now authorized for regular aircraft landings and takeoffs. However, it must comply with all safety, technical, and operational standards for its functioning.
The license also stipulates that all facilities, equipment, services, and procedures at the airport must operate according to DGCA standards. Additionally, the airport management is required to ensure safety measures, anti-hijacking arrangements, air traffic control, meteorological services, and other security protocols.
This achievement is considered a major milestone for Noida International Airport Limited and Yamuna International Airport Private Limited. After being under construction for an extended period, the airport has now received crucial approval for its operations.
