Nalanda, March 4: Shakti Singh Yadav, spokesperson for the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), expressed support for the speculation surrounding Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, entering politics. He stated that it is a positive development if Nishant decides to join the political arena.
In an interview with a news agency in Nalanda, Yadav mentioned that preparations for this move have been underway for some time. He emphasized that there is nothing wrong with a child of a politician entering politics. He encouraged Nishant to engage in social service, highlighting the importance of his timely entry into politics.
Yadav also pointed out that nepotism exists in every political party. He questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) about their own instances of nepotism, referring to Nitin Nabin, the national president of the BJP, and inquiring about his father’s identity.
There is growing speculation in Bihar’s political circles that Nishant Kumar will actively enter politics with the Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)]. This is not the first time such discussions have emerged; similar rumors circulated last year during Holi, suggesting that Nishant would take charge during the Bihar Assembly elections. Media inquiries about his political future have been met with Nishant’s consistent denials of such claims.
In the upcoming elections for five Rajya Sabha seats from Bihar, the BJP has already announced candidates for two seats, while JD(U) has secured two seats and one seat has been allocated to the RLSP. Nitin Nabin has been nominated as a candidate for the Rajya Sabha. It is believed that one of the two seats won by JD(U) may be allocated to Nishant Kumar, marking the beginning of his political career as a Rajya Sabha member.
