
Patna, March 12: An emotional moment unfolded in Purnia district during Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Prosperity Journey when Food and Consumer Protection Minister Leshi Singh became visibly moved while praising the Chief Minister on stage.
Before Kumar’s arrival, Singh addressed a gathering of Jivika didis, highlighting Kumar’s role in empowering women in the state.
During her speech, she became emotional, stating that the Chief Minister stood by her family during difficult times. She likened him to Lord Krishna, saying he acted as a protector in times of crisis.
“When my family faced challenges, the Chief Minister stood like a shield, helping us overcome every obstacle and giving respect to an ordinary woman like me,” she expressed.
Singh also shared her humble beginnings, noting that Kumar entrusted her with significant responsibilities, symbolizing his commitment to women’s empowerment in Bihar.
During the Prosperity Journey event, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar laid the foundation for eight projects and inaugurated 84, dedicating them to the people of Purnia.
Prior to the public meeting, he worshipped at the Maa Purnadevi temple and later visited the Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Department, inspecting various stalls set up by the departments.
Addressing a large gathering of Jivika members at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kumar stated that since the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government took power in 2005, the pace of development in Bihar has accelerated.
He remarked that previously, people feared going out in the evening, roads were in disrepair, and the education and health systems were weak.
According to him, his government has established the rule of law and accelerated development across various sectors. After completing the program in Purnia, the Chief Minister proceeded to Katihar as part of the ongoing Prosperity Journey, where he laid the foundation for 186 projects and inaugurated 257, dedicating them to the public.
The government stated that these initiatives aim to give a new impetus to development in the region. Authorities had also arranged extensive security and traffic management for the Chief Minister’s journey.
