Nine Arrested for Sexual Assault of Minor in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : In Hyderabad, a shocking incident has emerged involving the sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl by nine individuals. The girl, a student in the 11th grade, was reportedly abducted and drugged before being subjected to three days of abuse.

The police have registered a case against all accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The arrests came after the victim managed to escape and filed a complaint at the Alwal police station, which falls under the Malakjigiri police commissionerate.

The victim was reportedly assaulted multiple times by the accused, some of whom she knew. These acts of exploitation took place in various locations, including a car, during train journeys, and in hotel rooms.

According to police reports, the victim first came into contact with one of the accused, J. Varun, while she was in the 10th grade. Varun allegedly lured her with drug-laced chocolates and assaulted her in his car. Another individual, Romala Varun, introduced to her by J. Varun, also exploited her, introducing her to substances like alcohol and marijuana.

Initial investigations revealed that the victim had connected with another accused, David Varun, via Instagram. David reportedly provided her with alcohol and mistreated her.

On September 9, the victim’s father grew suspicious of her behavior and reprimanded her, prompting her to leave home. She ended up at Bolaram railway station, where she met a man named Neeraj. Neeraj and his friend Vicky allegedly drugged her and assaulted her.

Later, Vicky took the girl to a room in Dulapalli, where he and Nikhil, along with two others, sexually assaulted her. On the night of September 9, Vicky brought her to his home in Bolaram, where she was held captive.

The following day, she managed to escape and reached Bolaram railway station. However, Vicky and his friend Ganesh tracked her down and forcibly drugged her again. They transported her to Medchal railway station and assaulted her during the journey. After arriving in Malakjigiri, they took an auto-rickshaw, but she successfully escaped and returned home, where she informed her family and contacted the police.

In response to the victim’s complaint, law enforcement has charged the accused under various sections of the POCSO Act and the Indian Penal Code. The manager and owner of an OYO hotel have also been arrested for allowing the minor to stay without proper verification.
