Chittorgarh, August 4 (H.S.) – A young man from the Nimbahera Kotwali police station area, who worked as a helper on a tanker, died in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. His family has accused a local tanker driver of taking him along, murdering him, and then abandoning the body at a hospital in Bhopal. In protest, the family placed the body outside the accused driver’s house and demanded action.

Upon receiving information about the incident, senior police and administrative officials reached the spot and inquired about the situation. Later, the police managed to persuade the family to proceed with the last rites.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Dilkhush, son of Radheshyam Meena, a resident of Dhowliya village under the Nimbahera Kotwali police station. He worked as a helper on a tanker. Ranjit Singh, also from the same village, is said to be the driver of that tanker. Following a notification from the Bhopal police, the family reached the location, where a post-mortem was conducted.

Family members alleged that Ranjit Singh had taken Dilkhush with him. After Dilkhush died in Bhopal, the accused fled the scene. On Monday, the family returned to their village with the body and, along with local villagers, placed it outside the house of truck driver Ranjit Singh, launching a protest. They demanded action against Ranjit Singh, accusing him of involvement in the death.

Upon being informed, a police team from Nimbahera Kotwali reached the spot and tried to calm the situation. Senior officials, including Nimbahera Deputy Badrilal Rao and the Kotwali Station House Officer, also arrived. Additional police personnel were deployed as a precaution.

In connection with the case, Dilkhush’s uncle, Dinesh Meena, stated that the incident occurred on July 30, and Dilkhush died on the morning of August 1. However, the accused driver, Ranjit Singh, did not inform the family and instead fled the scene. The family only received information from Bhopal police the next day at 2 PM and rushed to the spot. They alleged that Dilkhush’s body had burn marks in several places, raising suspicions of foul play.

Sources suggest that Dilkhush may have died from electrocution while checking the diesel gauge of the tanker under a high-tension power line. However, the family has demanded a murder case be registered against Ranjit Singh.

Following discussions and persuasion from the police and administration, the family agreed to perform the last rites.

Nimbahera Deputy Badrilal Rao said that the family staged a protest by placing the body outside the accused’s house. The police spoke with them, and the family expressed suspicion of murder. They were asked to submit a written complaint, based on which a zero FIR would be filed and forwarded to Bhopal police. The post-mortem was already conducted in Bhopal. Preliminary findings suggest the incident occurred while checking the diesel gauge on the tanker. The family was later convinced to proceed with the cremation.
