Hyderabad, June 13: The Indian Air Force Academy in Dundigal, Telangana, hosted a joint graduation parade, marking the beginning of a new journey for the country’s military officers. The event featured a spectacular aerial display.
During the parade, cadets from the 217th course received their commissions as officers after successfully completing their training. These young officers, dressed in uniform after four years of rigorous training, discipline, and dedication, described this moment as the proudest of their lives.
A newly commissioned officer from the Charkhi Dadri district of Haryana expressed that the four years spent at the Air Force Academy and the National Defence Academy (NDA) were among the most significant experiences of their life. They stated, “Standing here today fills me with immense honor and pride. This moment is deeply emotional for both me and my parents. The journey over these four years has been incredible, and it’s hard to put into words.”
Newly appointed Flying Officer Ritul shared that being part of the first batch is a matter of special pride for them. They acknowledged that this achievement is not solely due to their efforts but also significantly attributed to their parents, instructors, and senior officers. “Many have contributed to shaping my personality. I am grateful to all of them for playing a crucial role in helping me reach this milestone,” Ritul said.
Encouraging young girls, Ritul emphasized the importance of dreaming big. They noted that opportunities are now available for women in every field, and the armed forces exemplify this. Ritul mentioned that they are the first in their family to enter the defense services.
Another newly commissioned officer remarked that this achievement is not just personal but a collective success for all who contributed to realizing their dream. “This is an incredibly fulfilling moment. It’s not just me; my family, instructors, and many others have worked tirelessly to help me reach this point. Over the past four years, we faced tough training and numerous challenges. Today, we have graduated, and it is a moment of pride for all of us.”
The mother of newly commissioned female officer Nidhi also expressed her joy. She shared that her daughter’s long-held dream has finally come true. “I cannot express my happiness in words. Nidhi always dreamed of becoming an officer in the Air Force, and today that dream has materialized. She had previously joined the Navy, but her aspiration was to be part of the Indian Air Force. Now she is a Flying Officer, continuing our family legacy,” she said.
She added that Nidhi’s father had also served in the Indian Air Force and retired as a Flying Officer. Now, their daughter is carrying forward that tradition. The entire family is proud of her, and her hard work has finally paid off.
