Pune, June 25: The investigation into the Ketan murder case has taken a new turn. Pune police have detained Neeraj Kumar, a close friend and employee of the accused Chetan Chaudhary, to examine his involvement. Authorities are now trying to determine Neeraj’s role before and on the day of the incident.
According to police, on the day Ketan was allegedly murdered during a trekking expedition at Lohgad Fort, Chetan left his mobile phone at home or at his shop. Instead, he took Neeraj’s phone with him. The investigation has also revealed that on the day of the incident, Chetan and co-accused Siya Goyal were in contact with each other through Neeraj’s mobile phone.
Chetan’s uncle spoke to the media, stating that Chetan had left his phone at the shop and took Neeraj’s phone instead. He mentioned that Chetan and Neeraj often used each other’s phones for communication and other tasks. Neeraj has been working with them for the past three to four years and is considered close to the family.
Police allege that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary conspired to murder Ketan while sitting in a café. According to investigative agencies, after several failed attempts, they allegedly executed the plan during the trekking at Lohgad Fort.
The current focus of the investigation is on Neeraj Kumar’s mobile phone, including call records, chats, and other digital evidence. Police are trying to ascertain whether Neeraj was aware of the phone’s use on the day of the incident and if he was in any way connected to the entire sequence of events. Interrogation of Neeraj is ongoing, and police are conducting a thorough investigation into every aspect of the case.
