India Expresses Solidarity with Nepal Amid Natural Disaster

Patna, August 27: Leaders from various political parties have expressed their thoughts on the recent natural disaster in Nepal, offering condolences to those who lost their lives.
Manoj Jha, spokesperson for the Rashtriya Janata Dal, stated that such a calamity has not been witnessed in recent times. He questioned the reasons behind the disaster, noting that different people are attributing various causes. The sight of buildings, roads, and villages disappearing in an instant is truly unfortunate. In this situation, he believes India should extend help to Nepal during this difficult time. Additionally, there is a climate of fear among people in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, which border Nepal. Jha emphasized the need for preparedness to ensure that the situation does not escalate further.
Congress media in-charge Rakesh Sinha also shared his views on the natural disaster in Nepal. He described the devastation caused by nature as alarming. Given the longstanding good relations between India and Nepal, he urged the Indian government to provide all possible assistance to Nepal. He also called for an immediate search for missing Indians, as reports indicate that many individuals are unaccounted for. This situation is deeply distressing, and he insisted that the Indian government must act swiftly to deliver aid to Nepal. Furthermore, he suggested deploying the Indian Air Force to assist in rescue operations.
JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar mentioned that Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary had recently raised concerns about the challenges faced by the people of Mithilanchal due to flooding in Nepal. Both the state and central governments are taking these issues seriously. Bihar previously lacked a disaster management policy, which Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has since worked to establish. Despite efforts to manage floods in advance, challenges remain, and Kumar has adopted a serious approach to flood management since taking office. The entire Mithilanchal region is affected by these disasters.
Meanwhile, an alert has been issued in Bihar due to the flooding in Nepal. RJD MP Meesa Bharti remarked that flooding is not new for Bihar. However, she questioned why the state government has not made any special preparations in this regard. The water level of the Ganges has risen significantly in Bhagalpur, yet laborers are still being put at risk.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav also commented on the Nepal tragedy, stating that the flooding in Nepal poses a risk of flooding in India as well. It is regrettable that despite the NDA government at both the central and state levels, the problem persists. He criticized the lack of concrete solutions over the years, noting that serious efforts have not been made to resolve the issue.
