New Delhi, June 19: Ahead of the NEET UG re-examination scheduled for June 21, extensive preparations have been made to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the exam. In this regard, officials will conduct a nationwide mock drill on Saturday.
The mock drill will commence at 9 AM and continue until late evening. More than 2.5 million security personnel are expected to participate in this exercise across the country.
All examination centers have been assigned to the National Testing Agency (NTA). A three-tier security system will be implemented at the centers on the day of the examination.
According to officials, the responsibility for the security and protection of question papers and answer sheets will lie with paramilitary forces. Over 5,000 examination centers will be monitored through CCTV cameras and security personnel.
CCTV footage will be available for real-time monitoring by the NTA. Additionally, a high-level monitoring center has been established to oversee social media platforms and keep an eye on any suspicious activities related to the examination.
In light of the upcoming exam, all inspection and security agencies have been put on high alert. Besides district administration, state and central government officials will also supervise arrangements at the examination centers.
Approximately 2.2 million candidates have registered for the NEET-UG re-examination on June 21, with around 1.8 million candidates having already downloaded their admit cards.
The purpose of the nationwide mock drill is to assess the preparations, coordination among various agencies, and the effectiveness of security measures ahead of the examination.
